Wow, the Orlando Cyber Security Conference.
I guess I should give a synopsis even if
It was a disappointment, it was in a single Smallish Room. With many vendors having their own version of protecting email with White Listing and Sand Boxes, ALA Bravatek Soultions style. The free light Breakfast (fruit pastries and Coffee and Lunch with Salad and a Good variety of Deli Meats for Sandwiches was nice, considering the What must been the Budget Data Connections must have had, Considering the Size of the show. It has all the Potential of being a bigger Show the way it was done.
The most disappointing to me, were nither Gemalto or Entrust not being there.
Cisco and McAffe were there, just oppisite of each the across the aisle, but the show was so small, with just Tables Lining the room. Seems, the companies sent their C Team Representitives.
I was hoping to see Much Larger Vendors Areas ala Las Vegas or Money Show Conferences were some vendors had Huge and fantasic displays, and some just so, so.
Even with the great background of his Carreer, the McAffee Rep., as well as the two Cisco Reps were not much help, Both stuggling to help explain the meaning of the Diagrams below or how Clients were able to get Partners Products via epo & XDL. Even the Checkpoint Software Rep, barely had any Knowledge of XDL, most of which he got from me during our coversation.
Data Connections had each Company have a small Give Away Prize, with winners being announced at the end of the show, having Guests get a Card signed at each of the Vendors displays. It may have acommplished the goal of getting attendees to visit all the vendors, but I felt sorry for the vendors probably getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrom after signing all the Damn Cards all day long. Techology at it's Finest. LOL
I talked with most vendors, asking each if they used MFA and relaying the StrikeForce Story, a great conersation breaker.
So discouraged on Gemalto and Entrust#'s Absence, I forgot to take pictures with all the displays, but finally remembered to after the Last Session (Company Presentatio), only showing the aftermath.
This Vendors Booth gave me a few Ideas.
