Wharfrat, as long as one keeps on top of the news, I do believe one will have time to change the order or cancel. In my own case, I simply had no idea that the sale would go through at my price when news indicated the offer was higher.
This was the result of my own ignorance, but I really cannot complain because I did make money. The advantage of selling for less is that I got my money immediately, while those who received the higher value in the official offer had to wait about 6 and a half months before they were able to sell.
The thing is, I don't think this type of thing happens very often. Typically, most investors know well in advance that something big is about to happen (I think we know that about Univec). So in our case, even if we do not see the news, someone else will likely tell us very quickly (at least I hope that is the case). I do think it will be posted on this forum very soon after the annoucement.
