Everyone thinks the FDA is just honest and everything is scientifically based. What a laugh. I have recounted the DNDN story many times -- FDA refused to approve their drug (personalized anti-prostate cancer) -- because one of the scientists on the final review panel was working on a competing drug and he wanted to keep DNDN's off the market. Prostate cancer patients contacted their senators, and finally after a year several senators sent a letter of inquiry to the FDA. Surprise! The FDA reviewed it again and said that gee it shoulda been approved after all.

Nothing happened to the scientist who kept it off the market for a year and probably thus killed some people who wouldn't have died if they'd had access to the drug.

Hemispherx is another one. They had the ONLY drug shown to help people with ME/CFS, but because the CEO of the company is widely hated, they refused to approve it, despite the pleas of dozens of patients who testified in person that it had given them their lives back. The excuse was that the drug helped "only" 40% of people who took it.
That's 400,000 people with this disease who COULD be helped, but can't get the drug -- because the CEO of the company is a jerk and the panel members don't like him.

FDA is a cess pool that needs to be cleaned out.
