FWIW. My best car was a 1988 Honda Civic hatchback DX
Bought for $1300 with 125,000 miles on it. I personally replaced the head gasket two cv axles, new clutch, fix leak in ac system. 4 new hub assemblies. Tore out the DX model interior and replaced it with SI interior ( much cooler looking) put a bad ass stereo system in it New paint job ( did all the prep work for the paint myself). Price of car $1300. Price to bring back from the dead another $2000. Drove it all through college. Adding another 250,000 to the odometer.
When I sold it. The buyer paid me $2300 seven years later! BEST INVESTMENT EVER!
