Decent people agree that criminals should go to prison for serious crimes that hurt people.
Dishonest short-sellers who drive stock prices down by fraud and misrepresentation are criminals. When they attack a biotech company that has several potentially life-saving drugs in its pipeline by use of lies and bogus lawsuits, they are literally killing people.
That's a serious crime that should put someone in jail.
