Those nights are relatively few. I made it clear to you that I use the AC 2-3 weeks out of the summer, and even then only when I'm home..
And biking distance is not 150 feet from the shore. I've watched my car thermometer drop precipitously as I turned east from Sheridan road toward my home.
The lake mostly cools areas along side it in the summer and, together with the 'heat island' of the city, it is mostly 'warmer' near it in the winter.
