That was David Corn's Tweet, and it conveyed the essential silliness of the claim by Trump by singling out FDR for comparison.
Clearly the UN audience had an appreciation for the silly hyperbole Trump engaged in.
All subsequent posts used the 'almost', and Salty continued to deny what Trump actually said.
Calling a fake president a threat to anyone else's 'fake reality' is ludicrous. As is ascribing jealousy as a reason for the laughter.
Bemused contempt is a more likely reason.
