Yes, I have seen the Angel Oak and as impressive as the picture is, it does not compare to seeing it "live and in person". It is truly a massive sight!
Most of the lumber that was used to make the USS Constitution was from Southern live oaks. This lumber is almost as dense and as hard as a Librul's head and many cannonballs harmlessly bounced off of the USS Constitution in her battle with the HMS Guerriere, hence the sobriquet, "Old Ironsides".
