The White House is coordinating another meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong Un
UPDATED 1:55 PM PT — Mon. Sept. 10, 2018
President Trump may soon hold another meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as denuclearization talks continue.
On Monday, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders confirmed the president received a positive letter from Kim requesting another summit be held.
Sanders revealed the White House is currently coordinating another meeting, but did not give any specifics regarding a time or place.
She praised the progress made so far, arguing the letter is a sign North Korea is committed to improving relations and ending its nuclear program.
“A number of things that have taken place. The remains have come back. The hostages have returned. There’s been no testing of missiles or nuclear material and of course the historic summit between the two leaders, and this letter is just further indication of the progress that we hope to continue to make.” —
Sanders also mentioned North Korea’s recent military parade, saying for once it was not about its nuclear arsenal.
