Most of the cost is from the attendees. The SF Biotech Conference is sponsored by numerous companies and additional funds are paid by attendees. The NRs of the world travel all over the country attending these conferences. There are a lot of attendees with 'different 'agendas'. Many companies are there looking for companies they that could provide them with the next big drug. If one noticed, Leo has commented he has had numerous confidential agreements with other companies. Many come through conferences like this. Since it is topic specific, I would conclude this will be companies more likely to be looking to get into this market or in it and looking to partner and/or license their product. Lots of options with this.
