That's just my estimate on how long I waited to get mine granted and mine was IP/Software. Mostly it's just waiting, when PO comes back with change requests, I would meet with lawyers and we'd rework the bullet points and re-submit only changes.
I think I had to be onsite with PA Lawyer twice, to go over rejection points and reword/rework them and most of the corrections happened within first 2 years of application submission, then it was mostly just waiting until getting a Grant Approval in the mail.
Honestly, I forgot about the patent at that point until surprise in the mail
