A little off topic but somewhat related, but has anyone heard about brokerages making recent policy updates regarding low share price stocks not being able to purchase under $3.00? If so, what was the brokerage you've heard this from?

Someone from another board said there Merrill Lynch brokerage is restricting share purchases starting September 30, 2018 under any security that is below $3.00. Just was wondering if anyone heard about this from their brokerages.
