Re: wowhappens28 #13883
thats an interesting approach -using renewable energy to send renewable water through the dam twice bc solar and wind cant be relied onto produce peak demand but the water can -especially since all the engineers i know hate solar and wind power but they love water power

but 3 billion dollars? how long is the pipeline

maybe they can use solar and wind powered pumps to pipe fresh water to the salton sea to revive it and pump the dead salton sea water downstream of the hoover dam to meet our commitment to allow 10% of the colorado river water enter mexico where for decades the rest of the water was used up before the then dry river no longer entered the sea at the gulf of california/ sea of cortez to thank mexico for the invasion used to take the western usa back into mexican ownership(since the majority of mexicans think the western usa belongs to mexico anyway)

there have been various plans to either take pacific water or gulf of california water to the salton sea to revive it-something that might cost more than the suggestion above

after all the salton sea was formed when the river broke thru a dike or something to create the salton sea
