Last year I changed all my email account passwords to very long word phrases.  that is about the best way to protect it from being compromised.  Most of my accounts / passwords are 15 or more characters long.  Tough to hack them.  1600PennsylvaniaAvenueWashingtonDC is easy to remember and nearly impossible to guess / hack.
