I am neither for or against the argument of naked shorting at the current time with IPIX. I don’t believe MMs are stupid enough at this point to be caught when this thing hits! That’s not to say naked shorting and the Mako article wasn’t a concerted effort. Sullivan and Leo may not have been likely to forefront the matter because its sounds real bad to investors to say we have both an anonymous blogger/frivolous lawsuit as well as corrupt MMs running against the company. It basically spells out that your investment is unsound specifically because you’re on the OTC. By the way, we can’t get uplisted to prevent this again.
Unfortunately the OTC market is filled with greed and has always been considered HIGH risk investment.
This ALL being said leads to the cliche, high risk, high reward. The tactics these MMs and shorts use will cause this stock to EXPLODE on great news or have a significantly higher acquisition price per share then current pps. Idiots on the other board will say “why would big Pharma pay $20 per share for a $.50 per share company?” Biotech is like the American dollar, it’s not based off real revenue, it’s based off the sanctity of the company and other companies will pay to acquire based on the sanctity of the science which is real. Big Pharma tends to start as little Pharma therefore they know the tactics that have been used to depress share price and they know share price has NOTHING to do with the value of this company.
CUSIP change is a way to combat Naked Short when it’s a concerted effort like the Mako attack. I feel minimal naked shorting is occurring now only for the MMs to trade securities to keep themselves alive to fulfill shares when called upon. I don’t believe it’s being done to hurt share price because that takes much more of an effort and IPIX is no longer a good target.
Here is one example of a CUSIP change to combat naked shorting and MMs manipulation.
