of course they are - stores spend a lot of employee dollars just checking shelf life and throwing away items near expiration-same principles
plus flat pack does not require refrigeration
i've give examples of stores i use when the power goes out even for a couple hours in their coolers they throw out most everything-cheaper than lawsuits
