Sorry , but the Southern Strategy reversed the Party affiliations with the KKK and other free range racists. You can cite Byrd all you like, but he at least apologized and represented his entire State to the day he died.
Can you point to any current Dems who are apologists for white supremacists, who think that there are 'many fine people' among them?
Do you actually still think of the GOP as the 'Party of Lincoln'?. He'd never be able to stop throwing up if he saw the GOP over the past 50 years. It's now the predominant party in States he defeated.
