its not only that people pick poor investments (we all do it from time to time) its that they dont know when to buy, sell, and hold.
many new investors buy when the price is dropping because they feed into the 'gift price shares' nonsense.
no one can always pick a winner. youre going to lose money investing.
the key to actually making a profit is to SEPARATE YOURSELF from everyone else, so that when the price actually does run.. YOU SELL while everyone else is basking in the hopes that it will go higher.
in the OTC.. most times, the price drops and never recovers.
thats the key. buy, make a profit and SELL. stop worrying if youll 'sell too soon'. if you put in $1 and make $2 after tax... thats a profit AND a win!
