You stirred the pot with a vague message that you "finally got a reply", and that you would share it later. Ok, so maybe not from the company. But to you it was relevant enough to post it here so what happened then? Why come on with such vagueness and then leave it?

Why wouldn't you have said from *WHOM* you got a reply from since you are making public something you felt useful to share.

Good for you. Everyone, wanting the news to be from the company, assumed it was. I just said I finally finally received a reply but I never said it was a response from the company.
