Or BOE has a sinister motive of breaking LG's monopoly in OLED panel supply by launching massive OLED panel production with the goal of dominating the global market, then subsequently switching to the production of quantum dot based AMQDLED panel as AMQDLED is far more superior then AMOLED in many respect.


BOE developed the world's first AMQDLED display panel (Electroluminecent Active Matrix Quantum Dot Light Emitting Diode display panel) which is similar to the AMOLED, both type of display panel do not need the LCD technolgy as the LEDs are self-emissive.

But sharp plunge in OLED sales in 2018 Q1 and share price dropping below $100 psychological support says investors don't buy the scenario that OLED is the ultimate display technology, there is something better. Wait till the technology for quantum dot based AMQDLED is fully fledged and AMQDLED panels will be produced by other panel display makers such as Samsung and Tianma Microelectronics, for sure BOE will also announce its partnership with QMC Asia (QMA) with QMA being its quantum dot supplier as BOE is in QMC's partner/customer list.
