I don't know if you've read the email replies from Scott over the last year (posted elsewhere) but they have all been "I hope this" or I expect that" and zero substance or follow up. Just deflecting from answering any questions. Shady.
One answer he did provide was how he was not happy with the responses he's gotten from shareholders and dismissively said he's only going to communicate at the bare minimum required by law. Complaining about shareholders isn't the best shareholder relations approach. Especially when you're a new and growing company. But since I've trained and worked with the two and three letter govt agencies for a number of years, I can see where the arrogant attitude comes from. It's pretty SOP with them and anyone associated with them.
I guess he didn't like it if someone didn't lob softball questions his way. If he answered questions directly to begin with, there would be no need for follow up questions.
Keeping shareholders informed is part of the job of the company.
