I don’t have any doubts that things are being discussed behind the scenes.
There is a transaction in the offing. J&J must have thought they could scare up another offer, either from the Chinese or another pharma. It hasn't happened and it most likely won't at this point. IMO there is nothing at the moment going on behind the scenes. J&J has another month to decide, but they have already made up their minds.
