WATERTOWN, Mass. (AP) _ Tetraphase Pharmaceuticals Inc. (TTPH) on Thursday reported a loss of $21.6 million in its first quarter.
The Watertown, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 42 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 41 cents per share.
The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $1.9 million in the period, which matched Street forecasts.
The company's shares closed at $3.15. A year ago, they were trading at $7.74.
