I love how the bashers keep trying to convince people shorting an OTC stock isn't possible.
Shorting for the retail investor of an OTC stock isn't economically feasible, However, the MM in conjunction with hedge funds and other financial institutions, folks who don't have to play by the same rules or pay the same fee's or interest as retail investors live by it.
MM were given specific powers by the SEC to naked short OTC stocks to maintain liquidity in the market.
When they use this tool to manipulate share prices and to steal investors money, it's criminal. The SEC turns a blind eye to this for the most part because the MM maintain order in the OTC,,,theoretically.
Any fines that are levied from time to time on MM are more or less looked at as "the cost of doing business".
So, when someone insists it's impossible to short an OTC stock, I would be wary. They're part of the system that is trying to steal your money...
