interesting .. i rec'd in a PM yesterday about LAFC on ask @ 48c ..
this was my response
i never rule out any ask or bid as not being legit .. what i look for is what the MM showing has actually done .. on IPIX
first thing i do is look at what LAFC (MM) has reported to Finra for the past 3 months .. realize the PPS has done nothing but relentlessly compress over the last 3 months ..
so ..
here's LAFC in March .. 7th out of 11 MMs ... less than 2% of the monthly volume
here's LAFC in Feb 2018 .. 6th out of 10 MMs .. less than 4% of the monthly volume
and LAFC in Jan 2018 .. 6th out of 9 MMs .. less than 3% of the monthly volume

so my best guess is they are a *decoy* based on the size showing .. to *block* any significant take up on IPIX .. it's equally possible they will be utilized to reset with another MM trades around/at that PPS .. which is part of what i noted previously with NR having 3 choices open to them now .. the third being to slowly roll up the PPS a slightly higher % than the reset % back down (net per the week 2c to 3c) .. i refer to this a *laddering*
one thing that does interest me about the size .. is the 12 on the end .. imo when i see that .. i think of the first and second MMs' reporting to Finra .. (10 tends to be for the first MM reporting *imo*) ..
lastly it is quite possible it is a legit sell by a legit investor .. it just seems an odd time to *sell* a size like that at that price point .. now

based on what i saw today MM LAFC is a pure decoy .. most likely working in CONjunction with the dynamic duo of CDEL & NITE ..
