This is the most plausible explanation for the constant repetition of specious arguments by and made-up "facts" by the shorts.
No long would constantly denigrate their company's progress - without bailing.
EDIT: If a long genuinely felt management was serving them badly, they also could sue. The only attempt to "sue" IPIX was by a firm which frequently tries to shake down managements of small firms. That suit against IPIX was thrown out of court.
