I agree, the real question is whether the Feds ever make the recreational drug legal. I suspect that at least at first the most that they'll do is legalize drugs made with cannabis.

Frankly if the Feds wished, they could define legal drugs as those which went through full FDA testing, then we'd really have a scramble to test products, and I believe big Pharma would jump in with both feet and cannabis companies would welcome them as most couldn't afford FDA trials.

I would suspect that if the Feds took such an action, they'd probably provide some grace period where current products could be sold in cannabis stores. The real question might be, after the grace period, with approved drugs being sold in regular drug stores, as they will be in Israel, what would happen to cannabis stores especially if it's in State's where only drugs are legal. If the Feds make recreational cannabis legal, can State's withhold it. Regardless of what the Feds do, the one thing you can be certain of is that they'll find some way of taxing it.
