I was raised in Mound, Minnesota. It is a far out suburb of Minneapolis. Mound is named after indian mounds near Lake Minnetonka. My parents retired in a condo on the lake right next to the Indian mounds,
Now the fun part. My high school nickname was the Mound "Mohawks". With the liberals not wanting to offend the Indians, they changed their name to the White Hawks. I spoke at my 50th reunion in August 2015. I accused them of "White Privilege". The Mohawk name only affected Indians. I said now people of any color should be offended. I got a lot of laughs about that.
By the way, the school student newspaper was called, "The Smoke Signal". I asked if the new name was "Bird Droppings". I got a laugh out of that from the rest. .
