To ensure the protection of our proprietary technology, we have applied for patent protection for both the P2O process and P2O processor. As of April 2, 2018, we have pending two United States and one Canadian applications.
A lack of patent protection could have a material adverse effect on our ability to gain a competitive advantage for our process and processors, since it is possible that our competitors may be able to duplicate the P2O process for their own purposes.
We also rely on our trade secrets to provide protection from portions of our process and proprietary catalyst.
