I’m not sure how the dividend scenario applies to IPIX since they don’t have dividends. As for interest, I doubt MMs will leave any trail for billing the NS because it’s illegal. I mean the brokers are probably not going to say “you owe us $1000 interest because we naked shorted 10,000 shares of IPIX for you” in the statement.
