Amazing how something can be taken for granted sometimes. It's not that the interstitium is a new discovery or anything, just that when I read the article it seemed like I could see the light bulb getting brighter for this doctor. Might have to look at the Dr.'s (Dr. Neil Theise) work a bit closer.

The new study suggests that interstitium spaces may play a role in helping cancer cells spread around the body, becoming metastatic, Theise said.

This may explain in part how cancer metastasizes.

Also, it makes me wonder if this in some way might affect future understanding of the mechanism that causes psoriasis.
