Absolutely. The thing about government subsidies is that those subsidies can make absolutely anything profitable...maybe not worthwhile, but definitely profitable.
For a steep rise in crude prices, unfortunately oil is also the primary ingredient in plastic so that would make the price of virgin plastic go up. That makes competing product prices, like plastic scrap, also go up.
The "free waste plastic" is a phrase which gets thrown a lot around but nobody knows where to get it, not even PTOI. Plastic "monofills" filled with waste constituting around 40% plastic came the closest.
