Since some asked about putting someone on IGNORE, here's a quick example:
Click on the person's screen name. That will take you to a page like this:

Look underneath the avatar on the left side.
4 links down -- there's the IGNORE POSTER link. Click it, and you won't have to read his nasty blatherings again.
