Major victory in Congress!
Yesterday, after months of delays and non-stop lobbying on Capitol Hill, Congress has finally reached a preliminary agreement on a spending bill that includes protections for medical marijuana states!
The bill will carry over an amendment that prevents the Department of Justice from spending any funds to interfere with the implementation of medical marijuana programs and effectively stops federal prosecutors from targeting patients and providers who are in compliance with state law. These protections would continue until September 30, 2018, when they must be renewed again
