$TMPS ex-RAF Tristar MTT aircraft each have a 300,000lb fuel load capacity.
Omega's B707s only have a 156,000-160,000 lb fuel load capacity [less than a USAF KC-135].
Omega's KC-10 will be similar to a $TMPS Tristar.
So 900,000 lb total available from $TMPS and 616,000 lb total available from Omega at maximum effort.
So 46% more capacity for $TMPS with the same size aircraft fleet and much reduced operating costs for reasons stated in my previous analysis dated March 20:
- More fighters can refuel per sortie.
- Less fuel consumed by tanker returning to base less frequently to refuel.
- Less take-offs and landings in a year.
- Less maintenance manhours.
- Less spares - particularly tires and brakes - consumed per year.
- Less fatigue life consumed by take-off / landings.
