The U.S. Supreme Court today denied Pennsylvania Republicans' request to stop the imposition of new congressional districts ahead of the 2018 midterms.

A statement from the court said a request to stay a ruling from the Pennsylvania state Supreme Court had been denied without comment or recorded dissent.

Allow me to provide the missing comment: "Don't waste our time with your whining about restoring your blatantly partisan gerrymandered districts. They made your State Supreme Court draw up districts that more accurately represent the 'purple' nature of the PA electorate.

And your request for a stay made all of us laugh too hard to comment further. Have a nice day.

The state Supreme Court ruled the previous map, drawn by Republicans in the state Legislature, was a partisan gerrymander that violated the state's constitution.
