When you look at the State's supporting legal cannabis, I believe it's pretty clear that they're largely governed by Democrat's. The Republican's speak about State's Right's, but only if you agree with their views. I believe that Obama would have legalized at least medical cannabis if a few of the Republican's would have gone along and allowed it to be put to a vote.

The politician's aren't fools, they can read the polls, but they also want the money big Pharma provides. They will be certain not to prosecute in State's where it's legal, but they won't turn off the money by voting against big Pharma and making it legal. Watch how fast they change their view once big Pharma buys into cannabis based companies.
