Yes, lots and lots of "cry babies" who aren't cut out for investing in biotech or emerging markets perhaps. I honestly think many of the whiners you speak of were the ones who bought too high and were just looking to make a quick 100% profit on a run up. They bought into the hype vs. understanding what they were investing in.
The same thing happened to people who were buying Bitcoin at $16,000+... They had a rude awakening when it dropped under $10,000. People just need to learn to RELAX and get an understanding of what they're investing in before they pour a ton of money in.
If they did $100 - $250 or something small... Whatever. Easy learning experience. But, I know guys who put in THOUSANDS (even tens of thousands) into OWCP and Bitcoin and have been in the Red for the better half of a YEAR. Granted, the ones I talk to on a regular basis who invested in OWCP "too high" are at least still calm and rational. They feel confident they'll see a nice return in 2019 - 2020. Maybe sooner.
