Those are good questions but you are asking them in the wrong place. Contact your broker. Each brokerage firm has their own rules which include those imposed by the SEC. It also depends on what type of account you have, weather its a cash or margin account and each firm requires a minimum cash deposit to open an account. SO: to properly answer your questions you should discuss your particular situation with your own broker.
