How do you know Costco won't buy them at that price? You don't, actually. When they see that dealerships are selling them at $500 a pop? They pay $200 and put them out for $229.
They run them on a guaranteed sale basis for one-two weeks. SB takes back all the unsold units.
If Costco shows a sell-through at 85% or higher, they reorder the item and keep them on display. Each store would only get 2-4 units each.
The item is on the floor for about 2 weeks at a time tops. AND THE PRICE IS NOT ADVERTISED.
That's how it works.
