The statement that "X number of shares were short sales" simply means exactly that. I have listed different categories of what those sales are, but we do NOT have access to anyone's trading plans or profit or loss. So trying to impute hypothetical gain/loss scenarios to these trades is an exercise in futility.

I have asked you on more than one occasion to post a statement that you would like Alan to include in his FINRA number posts, that would address your concerns about possible misinterpretation of the statistic.

It is unreasonable to expect Alan to devise such a statement that would meet your expectations. Please either PM me such a statement, or post it here, and I will be glad to be the intermediary in working out appropriate language.

I know that I and probably just about everyone else who has been reading this food fight for many months would welcome a solution that would address your concerns and Alan's right to post an official statistic.
