No one is saying that all stock shorted intraday remains held short at the end of the day. We know that some people are daytrading for pennies.
I find the FINRA number interesting. At some point someone may be able to spot a pattern in the percentage as compared to volume, or price movement, or some combination of factors.
I do not for a minute believe that the number scares any potential investor. Posting it sure does scare some people who are known bashers though. (I am NOT implying that sox is one of those people. He's done great work fighting the scum at lieHUB.)
