If I recall correctly, right after it was mentioned here on The Hangout that key employees were awarded with shares, someone pointed out that this was done last year as well. (Sorry, I can't remember who originally posted it.) It is not uncommon for companies to award shares in lieu of yearly cash or profit-sharing bonuses.

Whatever the reason may be, it still looks good to me!
