Reminds of a 2011 Jabbour, Wong, Gullipali, Lee paper on positive characteristics of Cd Tetrapods for Solar applications. I believe it would be the QD we use in solar cells. This paper was before all the advances in shelling. The QY is low too, but I am sure it is better now. If we have solved QD problems for displays, which I think they have, then translating them to PV would not be that hard.
