This article begs some questions regarding the standardizing of the powerplant package. If they're offering it for rent without the battery, then there must be one single battery to "rule them all". It makes 0 sense for them to offer a car for rent that doesn't have a battery system fitted to it that is common to either many or all models. This also fits in line with the state goal of swap station tech. You can't very well have 100 different batteries if the government is backing a swap station project. It just doesn't make any logistic or financial sense to retrofit a car with a variety of batteries if the goal is low cost and convenience.
