On a personal note. I flew out of LSE in a 8 seater, riding shotgun on a cold spring morning. Rose imediately into the clouds on the way to Pella Iowa. Watched the pilot check his chart every five minutes to adjust his instrument settings. Never saw where we were pointed. On approach we dropped under the cloud cover at 500 feet. The crosswind was so stiff it felt like a bad boat ride. He slid toward the runway with the wing on my side pointed straight down the runway. Two seconds before touchdown he turned the plane and sat it down smooth as silk. Too me, that was an amazing landing.
