The plain, hard truth as indicated in the first paragraph of an AP story:
WASHINGTON (AP) — Congressional Democrats are taking a page from the playbook of President Donald Trump and hard-line conservatives: "Fight for your base and don't blink."
This one sentence says it all. Shumer and Pelosi represent a base of illegal immigrants. Trump represents a base of taxpaying American citizens who are sick and tired of footing the bill for food, medicine, education, housing and prisons for the illegal immigrant base living in New York City, San Francisco, and Chicago and other Sanctuary Cities protecting the illegal populace.
I honestly believe the Democrats who are responsible for supporting the government shut-down, will go on to regret who they are backing.
