That's a GREAT video. Love the internet hookup to the Smart SUV. Shows a couple plates there.
My take on the battery swapping option is that it is leased, not owned by the Car Owner. That makes it a perpetual battery with unlimited mileage. Without that option the owner buys the battery, but can use a charger only.
