I am not the best Viking fan, but am really excited with Case Keenum. He was UNDRAFTED. He still holds a career passing yardage record from 7 years ago and by a lot of yards. He was undrafted because he is only 6'1" and they like QB's to be a bit bigger. He is not the fastest sprinter and does not have a super strong arm. But he reads the defenses extremely well. One of his top receivers, Thieland was undrafted too. He played for a smaller Minnesota College.
I always like the underdog, and Keenum is one. Never started on a regular basis, was like the #3 QB at the start of the season, Bradford got injured and Bridgewater took longer to heal from last years surgery. Case lost his first start, but looked great since, one more lose, but got several bad breaks in that one, not his fault. His listed salary is $1,800,000. Bradfoid's is $18,000,000. Both are free agents at the end of the season. I doubt they want Bradford back especially for that money, They have not made an offer yet to Keenum, but I can imagine they told him the better the Vikes do in the playoffs the more they can offer. There was talk nationally near the end of the regular season of Case being the NFC's most valuable player. After today..... even if they lose next week he could get it. I can guess he has bonus's written into his contract for playoffs, most valuable player, etc.
Yes, I am still in shock.
