I don't believe it's possible to know what will come out of the mouth or tweets of people like Session's and Trump. The way Trump likes chaos, he just might have had Session's do what he did to spur Congress to act, I suspect that it's what he did with the Dreamer's.

Trump is no fool when it comes to making money, so I believe he knows that if he can spur Congress to legalizing cannabis, he can tax it in the same way that alcohol and tobacco are taxed. Besides that, once legalized the banking industry would no longer be prevented from working with those in the industry, it would grow much more dramatically, employing more people, and generating more revenue, and taxes for the Govt.

Short term this brought down virtually all cannabis stocks, but if it's legalized because of it, they'll grow far faster than ever. Meanwhile, in a few weeks I doubt if things won't be back to at least where they were before Session's actions.
